Description
(1) A program for Ken Murray’s Blackouts, an updated vaudeville show. Many notable actors and actresses featured in the program: Mickey Rooney, Gene Autry, Rudy Vallee, Bob Hope. (2) The Playgoer, The Magazine in the Theatre, featuring the same, although we can not determine if it is for the same performance. Per Google: Ken Murray’s Blackouts was a hugely popular, long-running vaudeville-style revue in the 1940s and 1950s, created and produced by entertainer Ken Murray, known for its chaotic, fast-paced blend of comedy, music, and variety acts, especially its popular annual editions like Blackouts of 1942 and Blackouts of 1944, a staple on Broadway and at Los Angeles’ El Capitan Theatre, creating a significant theatrical phenomenon
Condition: (1) Program, removed from a scrapbook. There is tape on the spine. (2) The Playgoer is attached by tape at the spine and glue on the back to a scrapbook page with a flyer for the Westwood Manor Hotel, a luxury hotel that was later torn down.
