Description
December 22, 1948 menu. The La Posada was a luxury railroad hotel in Winslow Arizona, one of many Mr. Harvey built along the Santa Fe route. Glued to remnants of a scrapbook page. History, per Google: Fred Harvey ( through the Fred Harvey Company ) built and operated La Posada Hotel in Winslow, Arizona, as the last and grandest of the famous Harvey Houses, designed by Mary Colter and opened in 1930, though it closed in 1957 and was later saved and restored by current owners. It was a significant part of the Fred Harvey chain that served passengers along the Santa Fe Railway, offering luxury lodging and dining. About 5 3/4 H x 9 1/4 W inches, slightly larger for shipping because of the scrapbook paper overlap.
Condition: As pictured. On the cover, Arrival of the Harvey Girls, an oil painting by Doris Lee, in the Hollywood Fred Harvey Restaurant. Glued on the back to deteriorating scrapbook paper.
