Description
1915 to 1941. Most produced by J.L. Lynch. Some by Geraghty & Company. Together with a Street Car Photo, likely Chicago. The street name is consistent with Chicago. History: A.A. of S. & E.R.E. of A. The letters are for the Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employees of America, a labor union founded in 1892 for transit workers. In 1964, it became the Amalgamated Transit Union. Division 241 refers to the Chicago local bargaining unit. Today, ATU Local 241 represents CTA bus drivers and Local 308 represents rail operators and other transit employees. We believe members paid their dues monthly and were given a pin to signify payment.
