The S O S Company Chicago Pat. Jan xx 1919 ( we believe ). History: Steel wool scouring pads were invented " about " 1917 by Irwin Cox. He used the soap infused steel wool pads to facilitate the sale of aluminum pots. His wife invented the name: " Save Our Saucepans ". As noted on the top of the box, Brightens Aluminum Instantly.
